A totally chilled Newborn session from snuggle to snooze!
So…I’m guessing you’re here because you’re in the process of baking a little bun to perfection. How utterly fabulous!
And in amongst researching the pram, the car seat, the steriliser, the moses basket etc. you might have started to think about the whole newborn photography thing. If you’ve landed here on your search then that makes me very happy because there’s nothing I love more than a wee snuggle with a newborn (that I get to return at the end of the session!). Lol!
But it can be quite tricky trying to figure out who to go with for your photoshoot and much of your decision will depend on the style of images you have in mind.
So I figured that it might help if I showed you what a newborn session looks like from start to finish and then you can get a feel for how I work and what the results are like.
Let the wrapping begin…
I’ll begin by getting your little one undressed (very carefully!) and then I will slowly wrap them up with a wrap of your choice from a selection I have in the studio. Don’t worry…the studio is toastie and I’ll make sure they are
If they are happily snoozing then I will get lots of images of them wrapped up and I’ll then work on getting all the little details…the ones that will change quickly and you’ll never want to forget!
P.s. While all of this is going on, you and your other half are chilling out in my little family room next to the studio. There is a coffee machine, drinks, snacks, Wi-Fi and a snooze inducing couch. Yes…you are SO allowed to have a snooze if you need it!
Then we start adding in the grown ups…
Who’s the Daddy?!…
I usually start with Dad.
This gives Mum a little time to get ready if she’s popping on one of the studio dresses ~ yes there is a gorgeous selection of studio dresses that you can choose from for the session.
We can start to add in any older siblings…
And then we get Mum in the frame.
Mum & Me moments…
Even if you’re not feeling your most photogenic I encourage you to get some images of you on your own with your baby. It’s less about how you look and more about showing the connection you have with your newborn. You will never regret being in the images but you may well regret not being in them!
We are Family!
We make sure we get plenty with the full family in lots of different absolutely gorgeous combinations!
And then we get any other images that baby is up for before they start to stir or get hungry.
And that’ a wrap!
So this is what it looks like from start to finish (minus the bum changes and mid session feed!).
